چکیده
Hypericum perforatum is an herb whose use dates back centuries. Extracts of the plant are available as over-the-counter treatment options for depression. The genus consists approximately 500 species, most which have not yet been studied. Antimicrobial resistance has reached alarming levels, indicating a post-antibiotic era many become less effective. For this reason, nine species were studied their antimicrobial activity and total phenolic flavonoid content. tested against Gram-negative Gram-positive bacteria. inhibited growth bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus Enterococcus faecalis). lowest MIC MBC values calculated extract H. both microorganisms tested, reaching 0.06 mg/mL S. 0.13 E. faecalis. Total content was highest in (86 ± 12.90 mg GAE/g dry material). tetrapterum presented content, equal to 1.58 0.4 RE/g material. herein common or examined compared perforatum; therefore, our study adds new data knowledge Hypericum.

Subcritical water extraction (SWE) is an alternative technique that implement water as a solvent. The objective of this work was to compare the efficiency of SWE in temperature range from 100ºC to 180ºC at extraction times ranging from 5 to 25 minutes with an ethanolic soxhlet extraction in terms of total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC) and radical scavenging activity (RSA...
